CMP is a gallery that lives in an industrial caged-trailer. This weathered and rusted container resides in a gravel parking lot in Austin, Texas where it is under constant exposure to the elements and 24-hour public viewership. The Mall

The Mall is a small art gallery in Austin, TX. We help artists make a living, with a particular interest in uplifting women artists, queer artists, and artists of color whose voices are more often marginalized, and to create an exciting and beautiful platform and context for their work. A majority of our gallery features works from Austin artists, and is exemplary of the unique culture of Austin. Beyond a space for exhibition, The Mall also actively facilitates education and community via four workshops annually, and the creation of new art via commissions of editioned work. ,

Unlisted Projects

Since 2014, Unlisted Projects has hosted international artists and leaders through an ongoing residency program based at the Museum of Human Achievement. UP facilitates transborder connections and international collaboration through friendship and the production of thoughtful new work. The community-driven nature of UP and its host location MoHA is firmly rooted in the idea of bringing people together to share their lived experience in a trusted and welcoming space. ,

Cage Match Project I/O Residency, Round 24 Application

The I/O Residency is tailored to junior and senior undergraduate art students and recently graduated artists in the Austin–Round Rock–Georgetown counties (Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties). We welcome artists interested in the interplay between outdoor space, the confined space of the trailer, and the evolving nature of the artwork itself to apply for our "I/O Residency, Round 24" program.

Qualified applicants must either be juniors or seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree or have graduated in 2023 or 2024 with either an undergraduate or graduate degree.

The title "I/O" stands for "input" and "output," representing the relationship between the artist's studio and the "gallery." We are especially keen on artists who are interested in thinking and creating outside the traditional gallery. This opportunity provides financial and spatial support to stage a narrative of the artist-at-odds, with either history, space, or a work of art itself.

CopenhAustin

Warehouse9 (Copenhagen, Denmark), Unlisted Projects (Austin, TX) and The Museum of Human Achievement (Austin, Texas) have come together to offer a residency exchange of one artist from Texas and one artist from Denmark. This international residency opportunity is intended for queer artists working within live performance and designed to support network building, the creation and sharing of new work in an international context. Residents are given the time, space, freedom and financial support to concentrate upon the development of their own work. This residency programme is funded and has a fixed duration of one month. This residency opportunity will be awarded following an open call and application process. Residency artists will be selected in partnership with participating organizations and host a public sharing of work created during their residency at both their host and home organization.

The purpose of this residency programme is to support artistic development and facilitate cultural exchange, and long-term connections between artists, organizations and the greater communities of Texas and Denmark. A unique dimension of the call is a commitment to the intersection of LGBTQIA+ issues and environmental sustainability practices.
