FAQ

How many artists will be selected from Austin for the residency? Will MoHA be selecting artists in rounds like Warehouse9?

1 artist from Austin will be selected. 2 panelists from the Greater Austin Area and 2 panelists from WH9 will be part of the selection process.

Will this program be annual?

Hopefully!

Will we be partnered with an artist in Copenhagen?

Community partnerships and social introductions are available but not obligatory. Warehouse9 actively works in the community and is happy to make connections based on an artist's practice or interest.

Regarding the “Letter of Interest/Proposal”, can a video submission include performance video or edits?

The video submission portion of this question is meant to provide an accessible option for those who would prefer to record a video of themselves talking about their proposal. This video shouldn’t have edits or be highly produced, but rather just speaking to the camera.

How can I speak to the environmental sustainability aspect of this proposal?

A wide variety of ways! For prior submissions, artists referenced recycled goods, material considerations, and ideas or concepts that connect to the environment. We encourage everyone to address the question in whatever way suits their practice.

Do I retain ownership of everything I make for the residency?

Yes, at MoHA and WH9 we usually ask for a release for us to show (but never sell) the work made in perpetuity, but that's as far as we get into IP rights.

What equipment will I have access to during the residency?
