This spring, 5 residents, a handful of mentors, and occasional visiting artists gathered for weekly sessions to explore ideas, technologies, and ways of working together.
Something between a showcase, open studio, and performance, the CATS+ Resident Showcase is an invitation for audiences to get curious, meet the artists, explore the projects they’ve been working on, and learn about their processes.
The CATS+ residents are Laura M. Cañas P., Seth Garrote (Solovino), Brianna Jackson, Salome MC, and Diane Sung.
About CATS+
The Collaborative Art + Technology Situation (CATS+) is a program for artists interested in expanding their work in digital and new media. The CATS+ Residency is a paid opportunity that brings cohorts of artists and tech wizards together to learn and collaborate on new work. CATS+ promotes troubleshooting, curiosity, and critical thinking around emerging and ubiquitous technologies. We host artist-led workshops, gatherings, mentorships, public showcases, a tech studio, an online wiki to remove the mystery from tech by foregrounding human connection, process, and experimentation.
Games Y’all, a monthly meetup that showcases indie video games and digital art projects from the local community, will be happening at MoHA at the same time. Your RSVP to CATS+ is also good for the Games Y’all event!
