Welcome to my Homepage presents New Recording: 24 hr Radio by Kia Miakka Natisse.
Project Description
"New Recording: 24 hr Radio will be a live broadcast YouTube Channel durational performance. Each hour, chronologically, over 24 days, I will broadcast live for approximately 1 hour on a designated Youtube Channel. The resulting video will then loop over the successive hours in a 24 hour cycle, until the next live recording. That means the hour one recording from the 1:00 a.m. live recording would loop approximately 23 times until the next live recording, at which point the 2:00 a.m. recording would take place. Then the two recordings would loop, in order, until the new 3:00 a.m. recording the day following. Then the three recordings would loop until the new 4:00 a.m. recording the next day. And so on, and so forth, over the course of 24 days. The final broadcast, on the 24th day, will air each preceding recording once, and then a final live one hour broadcast.
The piece is a study in the durational cycle of the internet society, and aims to be in opposition of such 24 hour clock, to slow time down, to repeat.”
Artist Bio
Natisse is a storyteller with experience across radio, TV and web. She hold and MA from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Studies, with a concentration in transmedia storytelling, and a BA in Journalism from Howard University. She lives and works in Chicago, IL.
