Welcome to my Homepage presents Lost Graveyard by Lenyx Dickey.
Project Description
Lost Graveyard is an interactive digital graveyard honoring defunct queer websites of the early internet. With a geocities-inspired, pastel-goth aesthetic, this web archive preserves and memorializes queer online spaces which once provided safety, identity, and joy, and have since disappeared. Using only keyboard arrows and a mouse, viewers can discover and celebrate the emergence of queer digital culture and history. Gravestones for Byte of Pride, SapphiCafe, and a half-dozen other early queer websites encourage visitors to engage with these personal pages just as they would have at the turn of the century.

Artist Bio
Lenyx Dickey (they/them) is a Black queer computational media artist based in Charlotte, NC. Their practice exists at the intersection of code, care, and culture. As a self-taught programmer with over six years of experience, they founded the Black Sex Worker Reparation Fund and teach workshops for The Rouge Support Network. Lenyx's artistic practice explores themes of digital archiving, queer storytelling, and speculative systems. They strive to investigate how code can preserve marginalized histories and create new forms of kinship.
