Are you an artist interested in digital and traditional drawing mediums? MoHA's Collaborative Art + Technology Situation (CATS+) is hosting an artist hangout, with the goal of blending the two! Come join us and fellow artists for a social coworking time to talk about art software, techniques, and collaborate, or just get in some time to draw.
Local illustrator Sam Perin will be joining to chat about his digital drawing practice and offering support, along with MoHA’s Digital Arts Fellow, Dari Hernandez.
All skill levels welcome! Perfect for Procreate fans, pencil and napkin doodlers, folks into or curious about free, open source alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud, and more!
Bring a laptop, tablet, pencil and paper or whatever you like to draw with. We’ll have some equipment and supplies available, too. Join for the full time or hop in when you can. Snacks and cold drinks provided. You’re also welcome to bring lunch or snacks with you.
About CATS+
The Collaborative Art + Technology Situation (CATS+) is a program for artists interested in expanding their work in digital and new media. The CATS+ Residency Program brings cohorts of artists and tech wizards together to learn and collaborate on new work. CATS+ promotes troubleshooting, curiosity, and critical thinking around emerging and ubiquitous technologies. We host artist-led workshops, gatherings, mentorships, public showcases, a media art studio, an online wiki to remove the mystery from tech by foregrounding human connection, process, and experimentation.
