Welcome to my Homepage presents Cait Carouge, a self-titled project by Cait Carouge.

This project was completed when Welcome to my Homepage was formerly known as ‘’’Welcome to my Guest Room’’’.

Project Description

Carouge repurposes domestic imagery to confuse the familiar and create a transformed space that allows physical distance and emotional resonance to cohabitate. In her Guest Room, a collection of photographs becomes a navigable collage of disembodied shadows, ephemeral gestures, and freshly vacuumed carpets.

Artist Bio

Carouge (b. 1985) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work explores slippery spaces of in-between. Moments of being looked at or of looking; a body as form or performer; familiar objects or images that appear and then collapse. Fragments of places that elude if not to a physical space then a psychic one, something that exists through memory or desire. She completed undergraduate work at Boston University and Maryland Institute College of Art, and received her MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2014. Her work has been shown both locally and nationally.
