Welcome to my Homepage presents Alie Jackson.
Project Description
I want to explore how people interact with the same object through different worlds and mediums. To do this, I will create a multi-page website, with each page assigned to a unique object. The pages will showcase the object in 3 ways:
- As a static image (passive digital interaction)
- Videos of people interacting with the object in its physical environment. (IRL physical interaction)
- User-submitted videos of AR interactions (digital interaction via facial tracking)
We know that these worlds are inherently different, but how does this change our mood, curiosity, and personal connection to these objects?
Artist Bio
Alie Jackson is a Multimedia Artist and Art Director born and raised in Austin, TX. She received her B.F.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University with a focus in Advertising Design and Photography. She's been commissioned to make Social Augmented Reality pieces for Nike + Jordan, Lionsgate, Facebook, and Snapchat. Her work examines how the popularity of social media shapes the perception and behavior of ourselves, others, and objects around us.
