"Clots" is a project conceived by percussionist Nick Hennies (Weird Weeds, Waco Girls, Austin New Music Co-op) for percussion, electronics and architectural design collaboratively composed by Hennies, Sean O'Neill and Clay Odom. The piece blurs the lines between musical performance and art installation, pairing immersive and hypnotic sound with various architectural elements introduced into the existing building that allow the audience to interact with and manipulate the sound of the installation/music as they please. The music takes elements of the ordinary and mundane - in this case, physical labor - and re-purposes that into something that creates a wholly new world for experiencing sound and allowing space for self-reflection and discovery.
