Measured at 10 ft by 8 ft by 7 ft, this weathered and rusted container resides in a gravel parking lot in Austin, TX where it is under constant exposure to the elements and 24-hour public viewership. CMP provides independent, ambitious, and proactive artists to apply through an open call process. If selected, artists receive funding, 24-hour access for a 1-2 week installation, and promotional opportunities such as being featured on CMP’s podcast, started by curator Aryel René Jackson in 2020. CMP seeks to support artists who are dreamers, tinkerers, poets and thinkers to purposefully stage a narrative of the artist-at-odds, with either history, space, or a work of art itself. | |||
