Calling All Fantasy Enthusiasts and Creatives!

Join us at A Clear Canvas for an extraordinary Nerd Night, a magical evening where fantasy worlds come to life! We're seeking talented vendors, imaginative artists, and captivating performers to add their unique flair to our event.

Here's a description of the event:

Calling all nerds! Have you ever wished to share your obsessive love for an IP (like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Ghibli Studios) with the rest of your community? From the pantheon featured in Xena: Warrior Princess to the delectable meals of Spirited Away, it's hard not to adore those captivating details from our favorite lore. We revel in diving into what makes an IP feel alive, the kind that might not be crucial to the story but enriches it nonetheless.

Nerd Share Nights are done in true nerd-style: a rigorous and thoughtful exploration into worlds we cherish. Think of us as your tour guides, unveiling cultures from fantastical realms, or as your docents, navigating you through a museum of fictitious artifacts and more.

For our inaugural Nerd Share, we're delving into the food, fashion, and follies of Baldur's Gate, a city within the vast Dungeons & Dragons universe and the namesake of the beloved RPG video game. This illustrious city, both familiar and enigmatic, offers opportunities and challenges in equal measure, along with a culture that pulsates with magic and life. Our evening will be an exploration of the delights and dangers that give this city its unique heartbeat.

Expect:

  • Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons: Dive into the Forgotten Realms, and explore the lore of Baldur's Gate.
  • Delicious Treats: Enjoy spirit-nourishing treats like treacles, healing potions, and neogi claws.
  • Literary Readings: Experience readings from Baldur's Gate's distinguished literature and "borrowed" notes from its citizens.
  • Fashion Tips: Get insights on what to wear for combat and casual hangouts in the camp.
  • Laws and Customs: Learn about the city's unique laws and customs, including the exotic animal law.
  • And More: Expect additional surprises and engaging activities!

And now for the details!

🧙‍♂️ What We’re Looking For:

- Fantasy-Themed Vendors: From mystical merchandise to geeky gadgets, we want vendors who can bring a piece of fantasy to our attendees.
- Artists and Illustrators: Showcase your fantasy-themed art, whether it's inspired by folklore, Dungeons & Dragons, or mythical creatures.
- Performers and Cosplayers: Are you a wizard at storytelling? A bard with a tune? A cosplayer who can bring characters to life? We want you!
- People in Marginalized Groups: We want to give opportunities to vendors owned by self-identified BIPOC women and non-binary folks to gain exposure, make some extra money, and enjoy yourself in an immersive environment. We also prioritize vendors run by or serving the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities.
