Salome MC is an Iranian musician, multimedia artist, writer and educator. She is the first woman rapper/hiphop producer of Iran, where she helped shape the hip-hop scene in early 2000's. After receiving her M.A. in audiovisual arts from Tohoku University of Arts in Japan, she expanded her storytelling methods by combining music, performance art and audiovisual installations. In 2016, Salome immigrated to Washington State where she started "Hiphop without Borders", a music workshop series designed for immigrant and refugee youth to give them creative tools in navigating themes of belonging, identity and language. In 2021, she founded "Seven Climes" project, an on-going non-profit initiative aiming to amplify the voices of emerging rappers from the marginalized ethnic groups of Iran. As an outspoken antimilitarist, Salome is on the advisory board of Code Pink, a women-led grassroots organization supporting human rights initiatives. She is currently based in Austin, Texas.

Salome MC brought a large volume of audio and video materials to the Unlisted Residency, recorded in Shoreline City in Washington during her 2023 Residency at the city’s Art Cottage. During her UP 24-Hour Lock-In Residency where she stayed in the Unlisted Projects trailer, Salome was able to go through all the materials and organize them, putting them in color-coded bins tagged with keywords so that she could slowly edit them into an experimental video documentary project about urbanization, globalization and human connection in the upcoming months and probably years of her life.
