poolboy is online. Watch him. He is telling you a secret. He is taking his shirt off. Your computer is whitehot in your lap. What happens next is entirely in your control.

poolboy is an immersive party and performance about submissiveness, friendship, and surveillance. Since 2020, Sam Mayer has documented his life on the streaming platform Twitch and at popup, IRL installations. The result is equal parts reality show, party, and live memoir. poolboy translates the chaos and performance of the online into an expansive IRL encounter. Mayer surrenders his agency to the room, transforming his life into the raw material for a dangerous experiment in endurance and vulnerability.

About the Presenters

Fusebox is a non-profit arts organization based in Austin, TX. We were founded by a group of artists in 2005 who wanted to create a robust exchange of ideas across different art forms and geography, with a particular interest in the live experience. We were also especially interested in how festivals could live in a more meaningful relationship with place. Today Fusebox partners with organizations all over the world ranging from small grassroots organizations to major art centers and festivals, and we produce The Fusebox Festival biennially, along with year-round programming of events. https://fuseboxlive.com/
