MFA candidates in Studio Art at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) and MFA candidates in Sculpture at Rhode Island School of Art and Design (RISD) are thrilled to announce A Sponge & A Sigh, a two-part exhibition between Austin, Texas and Providence, Rhode Island. This marks the second year of an annual exchange between both graduate programs. Participating artists from UT Austin include: Zachary Betts, Annie May Johnston, Zach Meisner, Anne Rogers, and Rachael Starbuck. Artists from RISD include: Jared Akerstrom, Devra Freelander, Maggie Hazen, Makia Sharp, Zachary See and William Udell.
The second component of the exhibition will open at The Wurks in Providence, RI on Friday March 18th from 7-10pm and will be on view through April 10. Participating artists from UT Austin include: Caitlin Halloran, Ryan Hawk, Zack Ingram, Gracelee Lawrence, Bryan Martello, Elizabeth McClellan, Michael Muelhaupt and Rachel Stuckey. Artists from RISD include: Jeffrey Allen, Bobby Anspach, Julia Betts, Claudio Vidal Kocksch, Nicholas Missel and Ellie Tomlinson.
