Janet40 is a curatorial/production duo focusing on materializing digital content. For the duration of their one month stay in Austin as the Museum of Human Achievement & Unlisted Projects artists in residence, they will develop Li Po, the first phygital object part of the second season of editions created in collaboration with digital artists.

Li Po is based on “Ten poems that Li Po transmitted to me when I visited him to the year 4444 A.D.” a zine and website by Mexican artist Canek Zapata. The compilation of texts narrates several interactions with a monk-like entity while contemplating what is left of our world after the arrival of the ultimate alien invader; capitalism. Li Po’s interface explores our relationship with technology and nature by systematically measuring the latency of the messages it creates and transmits.

Creative Team: Patricia Siller, Luis Nava and Canek Zapata

From Fusebox Patricia Siller and Luis Nava make up the Mexico City based collective Janet40 and are the 2019 Residents Artists for MoHA’s Unlisted Projects. This ultra contemporary curatorial and production duo activates the spaces between IRL and URL to create collaborative projects that fantastically materialize digital content. A collaboration with Mexican artist Canek Zapata, Lil Po is a zine and website, as well as a compilation of texts based on the transmitted poems of a future monk-like entity from 4444 A.D.
