"This summer I explored the folly of taking time off ‘just to create’. I went hiking, copiously cleaned and rearranged my house, read an entire sci-fi trilogy and then watched the Netflix series, made many elaborate meals, went to bed early and slept late. The result was a tumultuous entry back into the working world in August when I found myself with no income and having created no art. ‘August’ is my world at that time, the clock ticking as I thought, the interiors, the sounds, the rotations. It appears in the form of crudely abstract block prints, a quilt I actually did find the time to finish, and a soundscape that accompanied the boredom/freedom of giving myself this time." | "This summer I explored the folly of taking time off ‘just to create’. Lindsey Verrill is an artist/musician from Austin, Texas. You can find her performing under the moniker ‘Little Mazarn’ or working on letterpress, linoleum block printing, and screenprinting with her friends at Biscuit Press.
It appears in the form of crudely abstract block prints, a quilt I actually did find the time to finish, and a soundscape that accompanied the boredom/freedom of giving myself this time."
