Drippin' Dreams' newest entry is an evening of paper puppets through the lens of the digital camera. The series will present a screening of Lyon HIll's short film Junk Palace, featuring elaborate paper puppets spinning the historic tale of one of New York's most infamous hoarders. Following the screening, Drippin' Dreams goes live-feedin', as puppeteer Zach Dorn weaves lost journal entries into peculiar tales by manipulating digital cameras through toy-sized streets filled with paper puppets. A lonely puppeteer stalks the child of two notorious celebrities, a three-foot ghost plagues an eight-year-old boy’s fragile psyche, and an opera-singing landlord refuses to return a security deposit. This is An Excruciatingly Ordinary Toy Theater Show, where strange stories explode onto the stage in a surreal exploration of Toy Theater. An Excruciatingly Ordinary Toy Theater Show is made possible in part by The Jim Henson Foundation. We'll explore other avenues of surreal puppetry in the works of Sid & Marty Krofft and Liam Lynch. Audience members can create their own animations at our ever-evolving creation station. A deliriously drippy time will be had by all!
