From the artist: Using Pink Floyd’s song “Us and Them” as inspiration, I wanted to create a dark room where individuals could absorb the absurdity of a dream perspective that uses classicism as a departure point… maybe they’ll come out of the experience with an absurd absorbed real possibility.

With Us and We (T.T.T.A.W.) I aim to eliminate the distance and proximity that separates the notion and construction of physical, emotional, and financial space. This is something the human will continue to pursue, kill and be killed for, for many thousands of years to come… then again, maybe not. I don’t really give a fuck; I am more a “I and Her” kind of an asshole…

Nástio Mosquito

Multimedia Angolan artist, Nástio Mosquito, is known for his performances, videos, music, and poetry that show an intense commitment to the open-ended potential of language. The artist uses a range of monikers including Nastiá, Saco, Cucumber Slice, and Zura Zuara. Easily misread as a kind of world-weariness, it is the extraordinary expression of an urgent desire to engage with reality at all levels.

Mosquito is a founding member of DZZZZ Consulting Services and ZZZZZ Creative Projects. He has recently been awarded the 2015 Cedric Willeman Award (Belgium) and the Angola 35 Graus 2015, International Promotion 2 (Angola) as well as the Future Generation Art Prize in 2014, which is a major international competition that provides long-term support to emerging artists.
