The Beautiful People is a play written by American playwright William Saroyan. It was a runner up for The New York Drama Critics Award in 1941.

The story centers on Jonah Webster, an eccentric father navigating the parenting of his son Owen, who writes one word novels, and his daughter, Agnes, who has a personal relationship with the mice that occupy the house. Jonah is trying to pass his optimistic philosophies of life onto his children, even as these philosophies are being tested by the fact that his third and oldest son, Harold, has gone missing.

Saroyan is best known for his 1939 play The Time of Your Life, which won the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.

This brand new revival of The Beautiful People features some favorite Austin actors such as Janelle Buchanan, Rommel Sulit and David Jarrott. It is directed by UT graduate student, Steven Wilson as his thesis production. He has assembled an incredibly hardworking and gifted production team comprised of graduate and undergraduate students, along with professional artists from the Austin community that will breathe new life into this forgotten classic.
