MouthRadio presents an in-process production of Landscape Mechanical, a new play by Sarah Loucks, directed by Ann Marie Dorr, featuring returning MouthRadio collaborators Hayley Armstrong, Zac Crofford, and Tim Mateer. At a used car lot somewhere in America, a sad salesman tries to make a buck, while two mechanics tend to the broken cars that get us from one place to another. As they try to make it through another Saturday on the lot, the radio conjures far away destinations and the employees of ABC Motors dream of other places...anywhere...but here.
Inspired by old user manuals and the mechanical experience of performers Jose Lerma and Matt Spain, Landscape Mechanical is a meditation on the art of fixing an engine and the vast terrain of America. Using sound, movement, and machines, this new play investigates what it means to fix the vehicles that traverse this country, but never go anywhere yourself. Buckle up!
