Gender Unbound presents the physical gallery debut of Home, a collection of art commissioned from trans and intersex artists around the country during 2020. Because we were unable to put on the festival that year, we repurposed the money to support trans and intersex artists during that uncertain and precarious time. While we hosted a virtual showcase of the pieces during 2020, this is the first time the pieces will be shown in-person.

Introducing Unbound Communities

Unbound Communities is the new nonprofit home of Gender Unbound and ReSpec! We’ve officially received our 501(c)3 tax-exempt status. We want to take a night to celebrate this milestone, and you’re invited!

Gender Unbound is a trans and intersex arts community organization that is proudly led and run by trans and intersex artists. We host events year round promoting and supporting local trans and intersex artists. Gender Unbound has been organizing arts events since 2016.

ReSpec guides people who have caused harm towards accountability. We work directly with people who have hurt others and who want to address the roots of their behavior to prevent causing future harm. We facilitate a monthly drop-in group meeting as well as offer one-on-one coaching. ReSpec has been supporting accountability since 2022.

“Home Coming” highlights our commitments to continue putting roots down as trans and intersex artists in Texas, to foster belonging and chosen family, to not leave anyone behind and not treat anyone as disposable, and to build towards a future we want to live in, a brighter, unbound future.

The Art Gallery

Gender Unbound presents the physical gallery debut of Home, a collection of art commissioned from trans and intersex artists around the country during 2020. Because we were unable to put on the festival that year, we repurposed the money to support trans and intersex artists during that uncertain and precarious time. While we hosted a virtual showcase of the pieces during 2020, this is the first time the pieces will be shown in-person.  Most pieces will be up for sale through a silent auction that will be hosted on this page!
