Oh Come
in a custom-made outfit that samples blue, the ‘indigo of their ancestors’ the artist dances to rid themselves of inter-generational ‘curses’ and to ‘curse’ those who harm others. tuning to the corporeal connection of sound, the dance celebrates the plasticity of the body and mind while the breath punctuates the song as a beat. In the installation, the offering of blue cornflowers is site specific to texas as they are found in the south/west region and serves as an offering to all those on the journey of healing from ongoing cycles of trauma.
